About Assam University (History)

Assam University (Bengali: আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ) is a teaching-cum-affiliating university. The university has sixteen schools which offer Social Sciences, Humanities, Languages, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Information Sciences, Technology and Management Studies. About Punjabi University (History)

Punjabi University is a higher education institute located in Patiala, Punjab, India. Punjabi University teaches and researches in science, engineering and technology, humanities, social sciences, performing arts and sports.

It was established on the 30 April 1962, and is only the second university in the world to be named after a language, after Hebrew University of Israel. Originally it was conceived as a unitary multi-faculty teaching and research university, primarily meant for the development and enrichment of Punjabi language and culture, but alive to the social and education requirements of the state.

The university campus is spread over an area of 316 acres (1.3 km²), on the Patiala-Chandigarh road, about 7 kilometers from Patiala. The university manages Balbir Singh Sahitya Kendra at Dehradun, the capital city of the Uttarakhand. There is a rich library with rare books and manuscripts bequeathed by Bhai Vir Singh, Balbir Singh and Puran Singh, the doyens of Punjabi literature. Research on comparative religions is carried out at this center.

SSC HISTORY

Staff Selection Commission or simply SSC is an Indian government organisation to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices.[1]

This commission is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training which consists of Chairman, two Members and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations.

The Estimates Committee of the Parliament recommended the setting up of a Service Selection Commission in its 47th report(1967-68) for conducting examinations for recruitment to lower categories of posts. Later, in the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, on 4th November 1975 Government of India constituted a Commission called the Subordinate Services Commission. On 26th September 1977, Subordinate Services Commission renamed into Staff Selection Commission.[1]

The functions of the Staff Selection Commission were redefined by the Government of India through Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in 21st May 1999. Then the new constitution and functions of the Staff Selection Commission came into effect from 1st June 1999.

Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation Ltd History

The Jaipur Metro (Hindi: जयपुरमेट्रो Jaipur Metro) is a rapid transit system under construction in the city of Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Construction of the first part of the first line, comprising 9.2 km from Mansarovar to Chandpole Bazaar, started on November 13, 2010.[2] The Jaipur Metro Rail system is expected to be India's fourth Metro Rail system after those in Kolkata, Delhi and Bangalore.[3]

With the rapid industrialization and commercial development of Jaipur, teamed with a growing population, the transport infrastructure of the city was found to be overburdened. As a result, the government mulled over establishment of Jaipur Metro on the lines of Delhi Metro which had proved to be a great success. Accordingly, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) was asked to do a feasibility study for Jaipur Metro. Once found feasible, a company under the name Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation Limited (JMRC) was incorporated on 1 January 2010 under the Companies Act, 1956. Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the project was prepared by the DMRC.[4] In April 2011, Jaipur Metro Rail Corp appointed Mott MacDonaldto advice on the tendering for the first 2 lines totalling 35 km and costing Rs 100 billion.[5]

The Jaipur Metro will be built in 2 phases. Phase consists of the Green Line and Phase II consists of the Orange Line. Currently, the Green Line is unde construction. The implementation of Stage 1 of the project (Mansarover to Chandpole having the length of about 9.25 km) including the civil works, permanent way, depot and traction and power supply, etc. is being managed by DMRC.[6] The AFC, telecom and Chaupar to Chandpole).[7]

The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, or TNMGRMU for short, is a government medical university centered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is named after the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Dr. M.G.Ramachandran (M.G.R.) and is the second-largest health sciences university in India.

The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University Act, 1987 received the assent of the President of India on 24 September 1987. By 1991, it was ordered that the Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai Act, 1987. This affiliating University started functioning from July 1988 and is governed by the said Act.

The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University is situated in Guindy in the Southern part of the City of Chennai (formerly Madras) in the State of Tamil Nadu, South India; about 6 km from the Chennai International & National Airport and about 12 km from the Chennai Central Railway Station.

It is named after the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, late Dr. M.G. Ramachandran (often referred to as M.G.R.) by the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Karunanidhi.

Dr NTR University of Health Sciences History

Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences, formerly Andhra Pradesh University of Health Sciences, is a public university in the city ofVijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is named after its founder N. T. Rama Rao.

The university was established as Kakinada University of Health Sciences by the government of Andhra Pradesh and was inaugurated on 9 April by N. T. Rama Rao, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. It started functioning on 1 November 1986.[1] After the death of Rama Rao, the university was renamed after him on 2 February 1998.[2] The university celebrated a silver jubilee on 1–3 November 2011.[3]

There is a library and computer center from where the library network is operated. A guest house facility is available with different categories of accommodation for the faculty, examiners etc. The examinations section is housed in a separate area with special security; because of electronically controlled access, the section is accessible only to authorized staff and officers. Biometricelectronic attendance recording is also installed.

The admission is based on ranking in the EAMCET.

The university has graduate and postgraduate degrees, diploma and super-specialty courses in Modern Medicine; graduate and postgraduate degree courses in Dental Surgery, Nursing,Ayurveda, Homeopathy, and Unani; graduate degree courses in Naturopathy, Physiotherapy and Medical Laboratory Technology; and a postgraduate course in M.Sc. Applied Nutrition.

The number of colleges affiliated to the university at the time of its establishment was 27; it has now risen to 184. The degrees awarded by the university are recognized by statutory bodies including the Medical Council of India, the Dental Council of India, the Central Council of Indian Medicine, the Central Council of Homoeopathy and the Indian Nursing Council.
