Gujarat Technological University History
The Gujarat Technological University is one of the significant universities in Gujarat state in India. This university was established on 23 May 1967 inRajkot city, the administrative headquarter at Rajkot. Presently, 272 colleges in Amreli, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Porbandar, Rajkot andSurendranagar districts are affiliated with the Gujarat Technological University.
Gujarat Technological University, commonly referred as GTU, is a statewide institution affiliating many esteemed engineering, pharmacy, andmanagement colleges and varsities across the western Indian state of Gujarat.
The university is headed by the state government and came into existence on the 16th of May, 2007.
Earlier, Gujarat University was the prime university of Gujarat state heading all colleges including technical colleges. To ensure more efficient, and systematic imparting of technical education, the state government formulated GTU.[1]
GTU affiliates the colleges for the Diploma, Degree and Master of engineering courses comprising to Ph.D [Doctoral Programs] and Pharmacy courses for Bachelors and Masters, Management courses and MCA.[2]
List of Engineering Colleges of (BE) affiliated to GTU.[3] Education Department vide its notification no. GH/SH/23/2008/GTU/102008/960/S, dated 8thJuly, 2008 has affiliated following colleges/institutes with GTU.
